Summer Intensive Xfit Training Camp

Program funded: Summer 2012

Summer Intensive Xfit Training Camp is a 10-week program designed to engage behavior change in middle school students who have significant health risks caused by weight. The program encourages adopting a more active lifestyle, making better nutritional choices and establishing healthier habits. In addition to workouts held each weekday during the 10 weeks, the nutrition education component incorporates families, with each camper’s family receiving weekly produce boxes and cooking classes. This program motivates kids to be healthy and strong while developing an appreciation for fitness, thus avoiding the common problems associated with childhood inactivity and obesity while accommodating their specific needs and requirements.

Annually, this program is for up to 80 middle school students living in the Edmonds School District service area.
