Parent Trust Continuum of Family Support

Program funded: March 2012 through February 2014

There is a correlation between traumatic childhood experiences and health problems, risky behavior and mental illness in adulthood. But when parents have the skills and knowledge necessary to prevent child abuse and neglect, they’re providing the best opportunity for family growth and development. Through this program, South Snohomish County will see an expansion of Parent Trust’s Families In Recovery, Great Starts and Family Help Line programs. The Families In Recovery Network offers free, ongoing parent/caregiver education and support during and after chemical dependency treatment for families overcoming substance abuse. Great Starts provides childbirth education and early parenting classes. The Family Help Line provides immediate support, information and community referrals to its callers.
