Community Update | August 2021
Vaccination & masking needed to protect from COVID-19 spread
With hospital Intensive Care Units in Snohomish County capacity at 90 percent, the rise in COVID-19 cases in our community is clear from the graphic above from the Snohomish Health District (SHD) and Snohomish County. According to SHD, the current surge is fueled by: not enough vaccination coverage, decreased preventive measures, and the “game changer” Delta variant. Unchecked, a single Delta case on average will spread to 5-8 other people, compared to 2-3 people for previous strains. Vaccination AND masking are the layers of protection needed to help preserve medical capacity in our community for all who need care. Use the link below to find a vaccine appointment.
