Verdant Health Commission to Host 3rd Annual Community Health Networking Event

 September 28, 2024

Subject: Verdant Health Commission to Host 3rd Annual Community Health Networking Event

Lynnwood, WA – The Verdant Health Commission will host its 3rd Annual Community Health Networking Event on November 1st that will connect 80+ nonprofits and 7 Northwest funders at the Lynnwood Event Center to foster new relationships and collaboration opportunities to better serve our community.

Verdant started the Community Health Networking Event in 2021 because community needs in South Snohomish County are greater than any single funder. In 2024, Verdant will invest $7.4 million in nonprofits serving South Snohomish County residents, but that is only a fraction of the amount needed in our communities.

Confirmed funders for the event are representatives from the Acora Foundation, Boeing Company, Medina Foundation, Norcliffe Foundation, Pacific Hospital PDA, Paul G. Allen Family Foundation and the Whitehorse Foundation.  Each funder will provide information about their funding priorities and share advice and tips about grant writing with the audience.

Lynnwood Mayor Christine Frizzell will provide the opening welcome and the featured keynote speaker will be Xenia Dolovova, Executive Director of the Furniture Repair Bank, who will share stories about her organization’s work to furnish homes for those who were previously homeless.

Media are invited to participate in this event that begins at 10 AM and concludes at 2PM.

About the Verdant Health Commission
The Verdant Health Commission is dedicated to ensuring all residents of South Snohomish County have access to healthcare, while ensuring that our community hospital serves current and future generations. For nearly 50 years, Public Hospital District No. 2, Snohomish County’s commissioners governed and managed Stevens Hospital. Since reaching an agreement with Swedish Health Services in 2010 to operate the hospital, the Board of Commissioners shifted its focus to prevention and wellness, creating the Verdant Health Commission.
