Insurance Outreach and Enrollment Assistance (Door-to-Door)

Program funded: November 2014 through May 2015

In early 2013, approximately 30,000 individuals under age 65 in South Snohomish County were without health insurance, which made Washington CAN! busy assisting with enrollment for the Washington Healthplanfinder. Many people had questions about the Affordable Care Act and its impact on them. Washington CAN! representatives were trained to respond to questions and help people understand the process. They made connections with uninsured and underinsured individuals through door-to-door outreach in South Snohomish County with the goal of increasing the number of area residents that are enrolled in health insurance.

Read their summary, “Closing the Health Care Gap in South Snohomish County: A Project Impact Assessment Report,” on the work performed during the two-year period of this program.
