Gear Up & Go!

Program funded: March 2015 – March 2017

“Gear Up & Go!” as this initiative is called, was designed to be fun while encouraging 5th-grade students across Snohomish County to be more active and committed to lifelong fitness. In participating schools, each 5th grader will receive a Sqord band, which is worn on the wrist to track activity levels. Each classroom and school can view their aggregate data and compare their information with other classrooms/schools in the county. The long-term goal of this program is to reverse the declining trend of children’s fitness levels throughout the late elementary, middle and high school years.
