May is Osteoporosis Awareness Month! Join PacMed Doctor of Physical Therapy Ellie Forslund and Registered Dietitian Christy Goff for a well-rounded program on bone health and osteoporosis. This class will cover the pathology of osteoporosis as well as prevention and treatment options including resistance training and exercises.

Next, move into the teaching kitchen to apply what you learned into everyday foods and a healthy pattern of eating. Through a cooking demo and tasty samples, you will learn about bone strengthening foods & nutrients, as well as recipes you can easily replicate at home.

What To Expect: In this class, participants learn from a physical therapist and registered dietitian nutritionist about osteoporosis & bone health including delicious foods that strengthen bones.

  • Class is 2 hours long
  • You will be seated for the majority of the time, but you will move rooms for the cooking demo to learn strategies to promote bone health & reduce your risk of osteoporosis
  • You will enjoy a tasty sample of recipes prepared during the cooking demo

This free class takes place Tuesday, May 21, 2019 from 1-3 p.m. at the Verdant Community Wellness Center, 4710 196th Street SW, Lynnwood, WA 98036.
