“Navigating Diabetes Today” is a new Verdant program to support individuals living with diabetes. Join us the third Wednesday of each month at 6:00 p.m. for a session in the teaching kitchen or presentation by a health professional to learn up-to-date information about diabetes and strategies for better blood sugar control.

Celebrate heart month in February by learning how blood sugar control affects your heart health. This cooking demo will incorporate both heart-healthy and blood-sugar-friendly ingredients. Recipes and food samples will be shared. This class is led by a Registered Dietitian Nutritionist and Certified Diabetes Educator.

Please note: Navigating Diabetes Today sessions are only for individuals with a diabetes diagnosis and their support person – not pre-diabetes or at risk of developing diabetes.

What To Expect: In this adult cooking demo, participants learn from Registered Dietitian Nutritionists about healthy food choices and how to prepare and enjoy a variety of heart-healthy recipes that are suitable for individuals managing their blood sugar.

  • Class is 90 minutes long
  • You will be seated, learning strategies to make heart-healthy & satisfying diabetes-friendly recipes
  • You will enjoy a tasty sample of featured recipes

This free session takes place on Wednesday, February 19, 2020 from 6-7:30 p.m. at the Verdant Community Wellness Center, 4710 196th St. SW, Lynnwood, WA 98036.
