It’s Heart Month! Join Christy Goff, PacMed’s Registered Dietitian Nutritionist, for an in-depth look at how nutrition can influence an individual’s heart health. Many times medication alone isn’t enough to keep blood pressure and cholesterol numbers in range — learning lifestyle factors like what to eat, and how to add physical activity to your daily habits can be key to better health.
In these three 90 minute sessions, you will learn more about blood pressure, cholesterol, and how food choices can help you manage these numbers for better heart health. Each class features health information, a cooking demonstration including taste tests and recipes, and creative ways to manage your numbers. Individuals with elevated blood pressure, elevated cholesterol, or those working to reduce their cardiac risk factors will benefit from these sessions. Spouses, partners, and caregivers are also encouraged to attend to learn healthier food choices for the whole family.
This program takes place on 3 consecutive Wednesdays, Feb. 12, 19, and 26, 2020 (participants should attend all 3 sessions) from 10:30 a.m. – 12:00 p.m. at the Verdant Community Wellness Center, 4710 196th St. SW, Lynnwood, WA 98036.
