Join registered nurse and yoga instructor Connie Lee-Nelson for this class, suitable for adults of all ages, beliefs, and abilities. Classes will meet for 1 hour per week for six weeks and will help participants learn beginning yoga skills through demonstration and practice. Skills will include breathing to relax and relieve stress, effective stretches to progressively build strength and flexibility, and meditation to develop an improved mind-body connection.
What to Expect:
- Class will be a combination of learning, skill-building, and practice.
- Participants will need to move around during class sessions and should wear loose, comfortable clothing.
- Participants may be asked to try activities in standing, seated, and reclining positions on a yoga mat if they are able. The instructor can help participants adapt activities to a chair or as needed.
- Class has a minimum of 8 participants and a maximum of 12.
Yoga mats, blocks, and tune-up balls will be provided to those individuals who do not have them. Class size will be limited to 12 participants to allow for individualized instruction.
This program costs $20 per person (scholarships available — see details below) and takes place on the following Thursdays: May 23 – June 27, 2019 from 1-2 p.m. at the Verdant Community Wellness Center, 4710 196th Street SW, Lynnwood, WA 98036.
Space is limited, pre-registration is required. Registration must meet a minimum of 8 participants or class will be cancelled and monies refunded.
