Join us for the third session of a 5-part series of cooking demos in 2022 that will explore the cuisines & lifestyles from the Blue Zones. In this series, we will highlight five different communities around the world that are Blue Zones. These zones are home to some of the healthiest, longest-lived people in the world, who not only find importance in what they eat, but also how they eat. Everyday foods in these communities are plant-focused and include simple, yet delicious recipes based on time-honored traditions.
This session of Recipes from the Blue Zones features Loma Linda, California whose cuisine is mainly vegetarian. Ingredients central to this community’s dietary pattern include items such as whole grains, beans, nuts, and a variety of fruits & vegetables. We welcome you to come experience Loma Linda’s practices focused on nutrition, activity, and social connections, as well as what that can teach us about living healthier lifestyles.
Class will be led by a Registered Dietitian Nutritionist. Recipes and handouts will be shared with individuals who attend.
