Program funded: December 2017 – December 2020

Youth who are beginning swimmers will have an opportunity to access free vouchers for lessons available through the Lynnwood pool, Mountlake Terrace pool, Dale Turner YMCA pool, and Yost pool (summer only) in Edmonds through a partnership between the pools and the Verdant Health Commission. In addition, all 3rd-grade students in the Edmonds School District recently received a set of vouchers that can be redeemed for beginning swim lessons.

This injury-prevention program is intended to help non-swimmers in the Edmonds School District service area build skills and confidence in and around the water. The Lynnwood and Mountlake Terrace pools have set dates for water safety events that are free and open to the public where youth who are non-swimmers can receive vouchers to redeem for future lessons. These dates are Monday, February 19, 2018 and Wednesday, April 4, 2018 from 4-5 p.m. in Lynnwood and Saturday, April 7, 2018 from 5-6 p.m. in Mountlake Terrace. Watch for more dates in the future!
