Nurse-Family Partnership

Program funded: January 2016 through December 2018

This free prevention program, overseen by ChildStrive, supports first-time mothers and their children through the child’s second birthday. A cornerstone of the program is the in-home health education, which addresses the physical, mental and so¬cio-emotional health of the child and mother, resulting in improved health, improved school readiness, increased maternal employment and other benefits. These benefits are greatest when the mother, typically age 16-20, is paired with a nurse early during the pregnancy, so identification of participants early is important.
